The Tokyo-based content market, affiliated with the Tokyo International Film Festival, is jointly organized by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and Unijapan. The expansion follows the first Japan IP Market at the Cannes Film Market in May, co-organized by TIFFCOM, which drew more than 700 registrants for its IP pitches and panel sessions. The Tokyo IP Market covers manga and novel adaptation rights alongside remake rights for film and television projects.
